Here at Sustain, we always say, "Treat your vagina better than you treat your face". However, that doesn't mean we don't love treating our faces too! Skin is your largest organ, so what you put on it matters. Unfortunately, there isn't a whole lot of regulation on the products that go on our skin. That's why it's so important to choose wisely when it comes to skin care. Luckily, there are lots of skincare brands making products with organic, non-irritating ingredients (parabens, begone!) that address any skin issue you might have. Below, the Sustain staff give our picks for our favorite organic skincare products.
Meika, CEO: Vintner’s daughter serum is my fav! I’m totally in love with it because it’s serum and moisturizer in one. I basically use this and a little spf everyday and that’s it!
Bridget, Content + Social: I have super sensitive skin, so I love to DIY my own products. My favorite homemade body scrub is a mixture of ground coffee, coconut oil, and a little bit of salt. It makes my skin super smooth and smells like I’m swimming in a giant cup of coffee, which is morning routine dream come true.
For skin masks, I use one made of ground oatmeal, honey, and yogurt. Oatmeal is a humectant, which means it helps your skin lock-in moisture, and honey has antibacterial properties. It’s the only thing that saves my dry skin in the winter.
Leah, Customer Experience: I love Osea Atmosphere Protection Cream. It’s super refreshing and doesn’t have the heavy feel that I have felt with other products. The smell is also a great pick-me-up.
Arianna, Customer Experience: I’m also an Osea fan! I love that their products are made with a base of sustainably-sourced, organic seaweed. I like their Ocean Cleanser. It smells nice and fresh, but not too overpowering and washes off easily. I have a fairly oily face, and this didn't feel oily but it also didn't dry me out.
Carlie, Head of Partnerships: My favorite product is Sustain’s Lip + Body balm. I love that it’s big enough to use not just on my lips, but also on my cuticles, elbows, and other dry bits!
