We’re obsessed with Mindy Kaling. So when we discovered her birthday was this month (June 24th--not that we marked it on our calendars or anything) we knew we just HAD to do something to honor our favorite TV gyno. We figured that she’s got a number of listicles raving about her awesomeness already: but how many odes in the form of acrostic poems does she have?

Well, now she’ll have at least one.

An Acrostic Birthday Ode to Mindy Kaling

Her sitcom The Mindy Project, which she stars in, writes, and executive produces, has been nominated for various awards, including ones by Critics Choice, the NAACP, and the Writers Guild of America.

Apparently she is a tiger tamer. Even baby big cats recognize her brilliance.

Perhaps you didn’t see her commencement speech at Harvard Law School, which was smart, hilarious, compelling and had great advice for post-grads. You should watch it. Like, now.

Prior to her TV days, she and best friend Brenda Withers wrote a hit Off-Broadway play called “Matt and Ben,” about Matt Damon and Ben Affleck pre-Good Will Hunting. Naturally, they played Matt and Ben.

Yes, she is an unabashed lover of romantic comedies. Did you SEE the Season 2 finale of The Mindy Project? It paid tribute to romcom classics such as You’ve Got Mail, Sleepless in Seattle, and An Affair to Remember in just one episode.

Bestie B.J. Novak and she prove that men and women CAN be friends (take that, When Harry Met Sally). Mindy even helped out B.J. by appearing in the promo trailer for his book: and they are adorable in it.

Double standards when it comes to criticism on diversity and TV is important to her. So is feminism

Amazing body confidence is something she knows how to rock. She told Vogue (Vogue!) she doesn’t “want to be skinny” and check out this appearance on Jimmy Kimmel where she talks about healthy eating, living and wearing a crop top.

You should really follow her Twitter, otherwise you’re missing gems like, “ ‘Why the fuck not me?’ should be your motto” and “I was just asked which characters on other shows I would crossover to mine and I said Jonah from Veep or Darryl from Walking Dead”.

Mad props must be given for her portrayal of sexual situations on The Mindy Project, which are hilarious, but most importantly, feel much more real to life than any other show on TV.

Is Everyone Hanging out without me?

Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? is pretty much a must-read for all twenty-something women. Thirty-something women. Heck, every woman and girl on the planet ought to read this book. Need more convincing? In one memorable passage that probably sends high school misfits everywhere cheering, she basically tells John Cougar Mellencamp his song is lame: “ The chorus of ‘Jack and Diane’ is: Oh yeah, life goes on, long after the thrill of living is gone. Are you kidding me? The thrill of living was high school? Come on, Mr. Cougar Mellencamp. Get a life.” (Btw, we can't wait to read her next book "Why Not Me?" which promises to tackle big issues as only Mindy can).

Obgyn on Mindy Project

Not just a rote TV doctor, but an OBGYN who actively supports birth control on her show. Some of her best advice: “I’ll tell you what’s forever: herpes.”

Despite being hired as the only woman writer initially on the American version of  “The Office,” she thrived and wrote some of their best episodes (one of them, “Niagara,” was Emmy-nominated).

You basically have to bow down to the woman who pretty much seems to give Buzzfeed weekly content and all of it awesome. Mindy, YOU are a role model to girls (and guys) everywhere, and that includes us.

Most vagina-related products contain harmful ingredients and put little care into how they affect women’s bodies. We’re changing that.
